The CFA is a non-profit, membership organization with a mission on forestry education forest management. CFA specializes in educating landowners about the values of owning land in the Catskill region, as well as assisting landowners to meet their management goals. Programs include: on-site visits, Forestry for Wildlife, Woodland Use Guide, Apple Tree Grafting, Tree Marking, and Trail Camera Installation are offered to members.
Education on forest management, wildlife habitat management, White-Tailed deer management, timber management, and more.

With a mission to promote forest management in the Catskills the CFA staff provide landowners of forested lands with the knowledge and expertise to successfully manage their wood lots for healthy growth.

Education workshops will take you into the woods to learn about the Catskills habitat, skilled training classes in handsaw use and maintenance and weekly programs on WIOX with guest speakers are just some of the valuable programs offered to help landowners learn about how to manage of our Catskill forests.
The end of July marks the annual Catskill Forest Festival held in the Village Park in Margaretville. This is a free event and offers lots of fun and information from chain saw competition to lectures to music and great food.
