The Historical Society of the Town of Middletown preserves, shares, presents and promotes local history and folklife in the central Catskills. Through exhibits, lectures, musical performances, workshops and tours (especially our now-famous Living History Cemetery Tour in June), we peel away the layers of our communities' past so that we can better appreciate the present. From agriculture to art, reservoirs to recreation, we explore lives of the rich and famous, saints and sinners and the 'ordinary' folks who built our town. Middletown includes the Villages of Margaretville and Fleischmanns, and the hamlets of Arkville, Halcottsville, New Kingston, and Dunraven, and outlying areas like Redkill, Millbrook, Huckleberry Brook, Denver and Hubbell Hill. Our hall, just outside Margaretville, is available for rental from May through November, on days when we are not using it!
