Sponsored by the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Margaretville
The 16th Annual Cauliflower Festival will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 10 until 4 in the Village Park, Margaretville.
Celebrating the agricultural history of the area where cauliflower was grown as a cash crop in the first half of the 20th Century, the festival includes a Tractor Parade that lumbers down Main Street and into the village park at 11 a.m..
Music, historical exhibits and a visit by several vintage vehicles participating in the Third Annual Catskills Conquest Rally are among special features of this festival. Shop for local products, handspun yarns, maple syrup, condiments, produce, and specialty items. Artists and craft vendors will offer jewelry, textiles, decor items, and other one-of-a-kind treasures.
This festival is about food: homemade ice cream sodas, spicy Mexican dishes, chicken bbq, pulled pork, delicious cauliflower soup, and fried cauliflower. Freshly made lemonade and kettle corn, hot dogs and other satisfying treats will be available all day long.
Bushels of cauliflower sell out early. So get in line to take some home!
